Sickness and Absence Operations Specialist

• Manage and coordinate long-term sickness absence cases, ensuring appropriate follow-up, compliance with Belgian legislation, and effective return-to-work and reintegration processes.
• Maintain accurate employee absence records within HR systems and monitor medical part-time work arrangements, insurance-related triggers, and work accident administration.
• Partner closely with Payroll, Talent Partners, Occupational Health, managers, and employees to ensure accurate absence management and payroll processing.
• Perform payroll-related checks and validations, ensuring data quality and consistency across HR and payroll systems.
• Prepare reporting, metrics, and analyses related to sickness absence and workforce trends to support decision-making.
• Contribute to continuous process improvements, digitalisation initiatives, and operational excellence within HR operations.

What they ask

• 3-5 years of experience in HR Administration, HR Operations, or a related HR support role.
• Strong payroll knowledge and experience performing payroll checks, validations, and data management activities.
• Proven experience managing sickness absence cases and understanding associated HR processes.
• Good knowledge of Belgian legislation relating to sickness absence and employee leave management.
• Analytical mindset with experience producing reports, metrics, and operational insights.
• Strong communication skills with proficiency in Dutch, French, and English.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with HR, Payroll, Occupational Health, managers, and employees.
• Experience with reintegration processes, medical dismissal procedures, HR systems, or insurance-related absence management would be advantageous.
