Heritage Permit Officer

Handling complex monument and permit files.

  • Responsible for independently and carefully processing complex permit applications and procedures in the field of heritage, monuments, and the physical living environment.
  • Assessing applications, checking against laws and regulations and municipal policy, and preparing and making decisions.
  • Contributing to a careful balancing of interests between the preservation of cultural-historical values, the interests of owners and initiators, and the spatial and social development of a municipal organization.

What you will do.

  • Guiding and training (new) colleagues in heritage/monument permit processing.
  • Assessing applications for environmental plan activities for constructions (spatial).
  • Assessing applications for environmental permits for various construction activities (technical knowledge of the Bbl and Wkb).
  • Ensuring quality within the environmental permit team in the field of heritage/monuments.
  • Advising on required documentation and possible adjustments in applications.
  • Guiding initiators and advising internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal solutions.

Profile

  • Responsible for the entire permit application process and handles it legally correctly and within the statutory period.
  • Accurately assesses architectural plans, drawings, and proposed technical interventions and recognizes their consequences for a monument.
  • Can quickly grasp complex architectural, legal, and heritage information and arrive at a well-founded judgment.
  • Can weigh different interests and assessment criteria against each other and independently come to a careful decision.
  • Works procedurally carefully and pays attention to legal deadlines, motivation, and legal certainty.
  • Can explain complex legal, architectural, and heritage information comprehensibly to both professionals and residents.
  • Has insight into administrative relationships and knows when coordination with management, administration, or legal experts is necessary.

What they ask

  • Meets Quality Criteria 3.0 Expertise Area 1 (b) - complex and 2 (b) - complex applications.
  • Knowledge and experience in assessing and advising on applications related to cultural history and monuments.
  • Completed HBO level architectural education.
  • Demonstrable experience or training/course related to monument restoration techniques.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience with a municipal organization as a permit officer for heritage/monuments.
  • Demonstrable experience in guiding and training colleagues (references may be requested).

Preferences.

  • Knowledge of and experience with RX-Mission.
