Pipeline Engineer

• Develop and evaluate pipeline designs from concept phase through FEED, detailed engineering, execution, and commissioning.
• Prepare and review designs for high-pressure pipeline systems, including pipeline configurations, routes, crossings, and tie-ins.
• Align pipeline designs with process, operational, pigging, and venting philosophies.
• Develop and evaluate valve schedules, coupling schedules, and pigging facilities.
• Determine and evaluate design principles for pipeline diameters, pressure classes, and material selections.
• Perform and evaluate technical analyses in the fields of hydraulics, thermal loading, and mechanical design.
• Support technical studies such as strength calculations, flexibility analyses, water hammer, pulsation, erosion, and integrity studies.
• Collaborate with disciplines such as civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental, and process engineering.
• Contribute to safety studies such as HAZID, HAZOP, SWIFT, and QRA.
• Review technical documents and deliverables from contractors.
• Support engineering activities during FEED, detailed engineering, and realization phases.
• Provide technical input for design standards and design philosophies related to CO? and hydrogen transport.
• Prepare technical design reviews, specifications, and engineering documentation.

What they ask

• HBO or WO degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with high-pressure pipeline systems within complex industrial projects.
• Experience within sectors such as oil & gas, CCS, hydrogen, energy, or process industry.
• Experience with design and engineering of pipeline systems within multidisciplinary projects.
• Knowledge of relevant norms and standards, including: NEN 3650-series; ISO 27913; ASME B31.
• Experience with strength calculations, stress analyses, and pipeline integrity.
• Experience with collaboration between engineering disciplines and external stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently and take responsibility within a technical team.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to connect technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to maintain an overview and set priorities.
• Process-oriented, pragmatic, and results-driven work attitude.
• Experience on the contractor side and/or as an owner engineer is a plus.
