As a Safety Expert, you are responsible for safety, health, security, and environment within multiple locations of a logistics organization. Internally, this role is known as HSSE Coordinator. You visit one of the locations in the northern region of the country daily. You work in a team, are given a lot of freedom, and play an important role in challenging new construction and renovation projects.
What you do
You are the point of contact for safety, health, security, and environment within your assigned region. You are regularly present on the work floor, advise managers and employees, and contribute to a strong safety culture within the various locations. Your tasks include, among others:
- Performing safety inspections and audits.
- Investigating incidents and risks.
- Advising management on safety issues.
- Organizing emergency response (BHV) and safety initiatives.
- Providing training, toolboxes, and information.
- Guiding new construction, renovation, and improvement projects.
- Preparing reports and analyses.
- Monitoring laws and regulations and internal guidelines.
- Realizing safety and sustainability objectives.
You work with fixed teams at different locations, allowing you to get to know the people and the operation well. Your goal is to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
What they ask
- A completed higher professional education (hbo) degree, preferably in Integral Safety (IVK) or similar.
- An MVK certification is a plus.
- Several years of relevant work experience in safety, logistics, transport, production, or another operational environment.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations in the field of safety and environment.
- Experience with audits, inspections, or risk analyses is a plus.
- You communicate easily with employees, team leaders, and managers at various levels.
- You are independent, practical, and dare to address people about safety.
- In possession of a B driving license.
