Solution Architect for API Management and Event streaming

As a Solution Architect, you will ensure that data flows, which is crucial for decision-making at every level of the organization. You will contribute to socially relevant work within a government organization. You will be responsible for shaping, developing, maintaining, and optimizing the technical architecture of API and integration services that are continuously used. You will act as a link between users, developers, and integration architects.

You will work Agile and follow the DRY principle to promote efficiency.

What you will do.

  • Design and maintain the end-to-end architecture of the API management and event-streaming ecosystem: microservices, event-driven data pipelines, real-time analytics, and fallback mechanisms.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies (service-mesh, edge-computing, serverless event-functions) and co-determine which ones will be strategically implemented.
  • Establish technical standards, guidelines, and best practices, and monitor compliance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for API and event-streaming providers, enterprise architects, security specialists, and partners.
  • Coach DevOps engineers and dev teams in the adoption of API and event-streaming best practices and architectural guidelines.
  • Maintain documentation for developed solutions and technical processes.

What they ask

  • University degree (WO) or HBO diploma with demonstrable university-level work and thinking ability via assessment.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience as a Solution Architect and/or senior engineering role, preferably in the application integration domain.
  • Experience with API design (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and real-time transport protocols.
  • Experience with Cloud technology such as containerization and orchestration.
  • Experience with Jira & Confluence.
  • Experience with CI/CD and data pipelines.
