Real Estate Advisor for Educational Property

You strategically guide the real estate portfolio of a large educational organization.

  • You work within a Real Estate Strategy & Projects team, part of the Housing department. This department is actively developing.
  • You connect educational plans, financial frameworks, and real estate choices to contribute to affordable, functional, and future-proof educational buildings.

What you do

  • You develop and update frameworks for location choices, investments, and space utilization.
  • You are the owner of the Strategic Housing Plan and the Multi-Year Housing Plan.
  • You analyze buildings for use, costs, performance, and future value.
  • You create scenarios and business cases for new construction, sales, or redevelopment, clearly outlining opportunities, risks, and financial implications.
  • Your advice helps management and the board make informed decisions.
  • You translate the real estate strategy into policy, projects, and daily management.
  • For this, you collaborate with real estate experts, account managers, a development manager, and the team manager.
  • You provide direction without taking over the project yourself.
  • You monitor whether developments in the portfolio remain aligned with the agreed frameworks.
  • You contribute to the further development of working methods within the department.

Profile

  • You translate complex information into clear choices and establish connections between education, finance, technology, and legislation.
  • You make interests visible in discussions and work towards well-founded and supported advice.
  • You write and speak clearly for both content experts and board members.
  • You can effectively manage various (seemingly) conflicting interests within the organization.
  • You excel in stakeholder management and in strategically advising management and the board.
  • You are critical and clear on content when necessary, while maintaining focus on the relationship.

What they ask

  • University (WO) level of work and thinking.
  • Broad knowledge of real estate, including financial, legal, and technical aspects.
  • Knowledge of strategic real estate management or asset management.
  • Experience with business cases, scenario analyses, and investment issues.
  • Extensive experience in organizing insight, support, and approved policy.

Practical

  • A minimum of 2 days per week presence at the office is required.
