Content Advisor

This assignment concerns a position within a directorate that provides consular services to citizens abroad and contributes to the regulation of foreign traffic. The work environment is dynamic and focused on improvement and innovation. The directorate consists of skilled and committed employees who are dedicated to good consular service worldwide and the necessary supporting processes.

The client-oriented service directorate focuses on people who live, work, study, (re)emigrate, or stay abroad for holidays, as well as non-Dutch citizens who deal with the government. They assist them with information, services, and products from various government institutions. The service is accessible anytime, anywhere, online via a website and through a team of information officers who answer customer questions 24/7 via phone, Whatsapp, and email.

This team is supported by an editorial team that ensures solid online content and in the knowledge base.

What you will do.

• Actively contribute to the further development of the websites and the internal Knowledge Base.
• Improve the overall service provision.
• Explicitly focus on improving online customer journeys.
• Advise colleagues, managers, and external government parties on improving quality, content, structure, accessibility requirements, findability, and alignment with the target audience of websites.
• Propose new working methods/guidelines that improve content quality and ensure their implementation.
• Distribute, plan, and prioritize own work and work within the team/project/product.
• Represent the organization in consultations and (user) meetings with internal and external parties regarding the quality of the websites.
• Prepare proposals and reports (memos) for staff, MT, relevant bodies, etc., and explain them where necessary.
• Lead or participate in internal and external projects involving multiple parties.
• Guide editors and content advisors in applying quality frameworks.
• Apply web analysis and inform and advise owners based on the analyses.
• Inventory information needs in the field of research and advise on this.
• Be involved, where necessary, in the organization, coordination, and execution of research.
• Evaluate research results, translate them into concrete advice and actions.
• Communicate about advice and actions to stakeholders and monitor whether advice is applied and actions are executed.
• Propose editorial solutions for wishes that do not fit within existing website or magazine functionalities and identify problems.
• Organize, coordinate, and/or provide training/workshops/knowledge sessions for the editorial team.
• Maintain professional knowledge, follow developments and trends, and transfer them to relevant stakeholders.

• Knowledge and experience with the creation of editorial (online) communication products.
• Proficient in reading, language, and writing, excellent command of the Dutch language.
• Knowledge and experience with (organic) findability, metadata, accessibility (e.g., web guidelines 2.0), user-friendliness, comprehensibility, web analysis, and (user) research.
• Knowledge of target groups, how target groups process information, and societal developments.
• Skilled in working with personas and customer journeys.
• Knowledge and experience with government information and communication.
• An antenna for and understanding of political sensitivities and the functioning of politics.
• Skilled in communicating with and advising internal and external clients.
• Skilled in drafting advice, notes, reports, regulations, guidelines.
