Communication Advisor

In the coming years, infrastructure work will be carried out simultaneously in many places. This will cause disruption in the region. The question is how to keep the region moving and how to encourage people to make different choices in how and when they travel. A partnership of public organizations is working on the accessibility of the region by limiting disruption and helping people travel differently. The organization works area-oriented, together with partners, and constantly seeks what truly works.

The communication team is still very much in development.

What you do

  • You will work on communication for various projects in specific regions where a lot is happening simultaneously.
  • You ensure that communication is not only well executed but also guides the joint approach.
  • You provide an overview, help partners make choices, and ensure that communication contributes to behavioral change.
  • You work on communication around projects and alternative travel options, targeting travelers and employers.
  • You monitor the communication line, contribute ideas on what to communicate and when, and help partners choose the same direction.
  • You support and advise partners on their communication and contribute to and guide campaigns.
  • You are involved upfront in clarifying the assignment, mapping out who plays a role, what the playing field looks like, and where communication can help create movement.
  • You advise on the approach and help make choices.
  • You actively build relationships in the area and within the network of partners.
  • You delve into how partners communicate and what works, and are able to oversee the playing field and provide direction from there.
  • You work on the development of communication within the organization itself.

Profile

  • Extensive experience as a communication advisor, preferably in a complex or administrative environment.
  • Easily switches between different parties and interests.
  • Takes responsibility for your work.
  • Writes clearly and makes complex subjects understandable.
  • Feels at home in an environment where not everything is yet fixed.
  • Dares to take a stand, but also has a sense of collaboration.
  • Combines strategic ability and a pragmatic approach.

What they ask

  • Experience with mobility, area development, infrastructure, or similar societal challenges.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a communication advisor within a comparable public organization.
  • Demonstrable experience with strategic communication advice and guiding communication approaches, including a practical example.
  • Experience with stakeholder management and environmental sensitivity in complex interest fields.
  • Experience with campaigns, behavioral change, and influencing target groups.
  • Minimum a completed HBO (higher professional education) degree in Communication, Commercial Economics, Organizational Sciences, or comparable.

Preferences.

  • Experience with communication around talent development, internships, traineeships, research programs, or educational initiatives.
  • Experience in bringing together different organizations or stakeholders with diverse interests into a common communication approach.
  • Experience in using communication to achieve behavioral change, including target group, behavioral goal, communication strategy, and measurable results.
