Occupational Therapist Elderly Care
You help residents live as independently and comfortably as possible, focusing on what is important to them. You work with a diverse group of clients, including residents with somatic conditions, residents of geriatric care units, and residents with acquired brain injury (ABI). Within the occupational therapy professional group, active work is done on professional development and collaboration within the treatment department of a healthcare organization.
In the long term, there is an ambition to become the chair of the occupational therapists' professional group.
What you do
- You advise residents on their daily activities and tailor your therapy to their individual circumstances and wishes.
- You work closely with colleagues from various disciplines.
- You provide advice to care teams and informal caregivers to improve the quality of life.
- You contribute to innovation and quality improvement within elderly care.
- The role of professional group chair focuses on promoting uniformity and quality within the field, connecting the professional group, treatment department, and domains, and stimulating professional group development and training.
