Youth Worker

The assignment focuses on guiding young people aged 13 to 18 who have experienced a lot. They need structure and regularity. The guidance is provided 24/7 to support these young people, enabling them to live independently from the age of 18 in a reception center, their country of origin, or their own home.

What you do

  • Conduct regular mentor meetings with the young people.
  • Maintain contact with external organizations and aid workers, such as guardians, schools, and general practitioners.
  • Ensure a safe and livable residential environment.
  • Serve as a visible point of contact for the young people.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues within the team.
  • Participate in regular meetings and intervision sessions to ensure quality.

What they ask Education.

  • HBO diploma (e.g., Social Work, Social Work and Services, SPH, Pedagogy, or Applied Psychology) OR relevant MBO diploma combined with SKJ registration.
  • SKJ registered or the possibility to register in the short term.

Work experience.

  • Preferably, work experience in youth care, mental health care, within a care institution, and/or welfare work.

Profile

  • Be resilient.
  • Be empathetic, without losing professional distance.
  • Be clear in setting boundaries.

Practical

  • Be available for day, evening, night, and weekend shifts (night shifts are always wake-up shifts). This is a strict requirement.
  • Always work with at least one other colleague.
