Agile Program Manager Automation
A public-sector organization is undergoing a major digital transformation and is looking for an experienced Agile Program Manager to structure, coordinate, and accelerate an automation-focused release train. The mission is linked to the digitalization and automation of back-end services, with the objective of improving efficiency, interoperability, security, modularity, and long-term maintainability.
The consultant will work closely with business teams, IT, PMO, enterprise architecture, data protection, and cybersecurity stakeholders. This role requires a pragmatic and hands-on program manager who can bring structure, clarity, and momentum in a compact but complex environment.
What you do
The Agile Program Manager will be responsible for organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating the work of a multidisciplinary team composed of profiles such as process managers, business analysts, developers, and other IT/business stakeholders.
- Structure and coordinate the work of the automation release train.
- Capture, prioritize, and organize planned and unplanned work.
- Support the team in clarifying scope, dependencies, risks, and priorities.
- Set up pragmatic governance: rituals, reporting, risk follow-up, and decision-making processes.
- Prepare and facilitate steering committees and program increment-related activities.
- Align the roadmap with strategic objectives, architecture standards, and security requirements.
- Coordinate stakeholders across business, IT, PMO, strategy, architecture, DPO, and CISO.
- Support knowledge transfer and coach team members to increase autonomy.
- Ensure progress reporting, visibility on risks, and clear communication towards management.
- Maintain a pragmatic and delivery-oriented mindset, helping the organization move forward efficiently.
What they ask
- Proven experience in program management in complex or public-sector environments.
- Strong experience with Agile collaboration models, ideally in small or medium-sized organizations.
- Ability to manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams without hierarchical authority.
- Strong knowledge of project and program management techniques: scoping, planning, risk management, resource management, prioritization, dependency management, and benefits tracking.
- Experience in digital transformation, automation, IT delivery, or back-end service modernization.
- Ability to work with senior stakeholders and present clear progress updates to management.
- Strong communication, organization, and facilitation skills.
- Pragmatic, hands-on, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with concrete execution.
- Active knowledge of French and Dutch is required.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in IT.
