Personal Counselor

Guiding vulnerable people in a protected residential facility, located in a calm, green environment. Guiding participants with a history of homelessness, psychiatric vulnerabilities, active addiction, and sometimes a judicial background. Serving as a discussion partner, support, and motivator to help participants make positive choices and shape their lives. Managing your caseload, co-deciding on care planning, and applying your expertise within clear frameworks.

Working methodically and purposefully on recovery-oriented care, creating structure, offering opportunities and perspective, and guiding people towards an existence as independent as possible.

What you do

  • Individual guidance: building a professional, trusting relationship with participants and coaching them in making positive choices.
  • Tailored care: together with the participant, drawing up a personal care plan, translating wishes, needs, and goals into concrete actions.
  • Recovery-oriented work: stimulating growth and self-direction, and supporting the development of skills for meaningful daily activities and future prospects.
  • Pleasant living environment: actively contributing to a stable, protected living environment where participants feel seen and heard.
  • Building bridges: towards independent living, society, and chain partners, to enable participants to (re)participate.

Profile

  • Completed a relevant HBO-level education (Social Work, SPH, MWD, Nursing, etc.).
  • Ability to connect and affinity with the specific target group.
  • Strong personal resilience, capable of working independently and collaboratively with a driven team.
  • Flexible working is not an issue: working irregular shifts (no night shifts), within a schedule known two months in advance, and having a fixed day off weekly.
  • Being a Christian (Catholic, Protestant, or otherwise) and being able to articulate what that means to you.

Practical

  • Salary: according to the CAO Sociaal Werk, scale 8, minimum € 3,571 and maximum € 5,326 gross per month + irregularity allowance.
  • Stability: a one-year contract with the intention of converting it to permanent employment.
  • Growth first: career budget and internal academy for development opportunities.
  • Positive work atmosphere: good team dynamics, room for consultation, feedback, and collaboration.
  • Time to rest: 170 leave hours for a full-time contract.
  • From A to B: travel expense reimbursement (mileage allowance, NS Business Card, bicycle plan).
  • Extras: individual choice budget (year-end bonus of 8.3% and holiday allowance of 8%), pension scheme, and sports budget.
