As a complex security officer, you contribute to peace and safety within a judicial institution. You will alternate between working in the central control room and physically supervising detainees and visitors, ensuring a varied and unique role.
What you do
- Maintain order, peace, and safety within the institution
- Control visitors and staff upon entry
- Escort detainees to appointments or activities
- Participate in cell inspections
- Monitor the institution via cameras, both inside and outside
- Safeguard security in visitor rooms, common areas, and detainee sections
- Intervene when necessary in unsafe situations
- Be part of the emergency response organization (BHV) and potentially an Internal Assistance team
- Admit and register personnel and visitors, overseeing security measures
- Monitor isolation cells via cameras for quick intervention in emergencies
- Supervise conjugal visits and conduct body searches afterwards
- Provide support during incidents, such as conflicts between detainees
- Ensure security around the building
What they ask
- Demonstrable MBO 2 working and thinking level (assessed with a capacity test)
- Interest in security and the importance of a safe environment
- Remain calm during tensions and act clearly and respectfully
- Good physical and mental condition
- Some technical knowledge of security systems and cameras, or the willingness to learn this
- Good communication skills in Dutch
- Willingness to work irregular shifts (day, evening, or night shifts)
- Stress-resistant, decisive, and strong communicator
- Ability to adapt communication with detainees to the situation
Practical
- You will be trained by an experienced colleague
- You will follow a 6-week internal training before performing tasks independently
