General Practitioner's Assistant Mental Health (POH GGZ)

As a GP's Assistant Mental Health (POH GGZ), you provide assistance to patients in the familiar environment of the general practice. You identify, diagnose, and support individuals with psychological problems. Together with the patient, you map out their complaints or problems and provide sound advice, such as guidance, treatment, or referral. You thus support the general practitioner in providing care to patients with psychological, psychosomatic, and/or psychosocial complaints.

Therefore, we offer effective treatments to people who are struggling in their daily lives due to psychological complaints. Through a service agreement, the POH GGZ is deployed in general practices. You work under the supervision of the general practitioner, and the team members in the general practice are your direct colleagues.

What you do

  • Answer questions in the field of mental health in a general practice.
  • Perform triage and quickly provide patients with the right care.
  • Offer short-term assistance and guidance to patients.
  • Create and maintain patient files.
  • Consult with the general practitioner about your patients.
  • Be digitally skilled or willing to train in this area.

Profile

You are a flexible, committed, and competent professional. You enjoy working in the community, close to the patient, the general practitioner, and other network partners. You are well able to work independently, solve problems effectively and quickly, and possess good social skills.

  • Completed relevant HBO (higher professional education) level training, preferably the post-HBO POH-GGZ training.
  • Relevant work experience.
  • Broad knowledge of mental health care.

Practical

  • You will receive a contract with a healthcare organization and will be deployed in a general practice through a service agreement.
  • Your position is classified in FWG 55 of the CAO-ggz, depending on your education and experience.
  • Intervision with POH GGZ colleagues, an interesting training offer, and study days are facilitated.
