As an experienced Physician for Intellectually Disabled Persons, you play a central role in the care for individuals with intellectual disabilities, who often have complex care needs. You work with both intramural and extramural clients at the polyclinic of a healthcare organization. Within the medical department, the Stepped Care model is being implemented. Practice nurses and specialized nurses perform the less complex tasks within this model.
What you will do.
- Establish diagnoses and perform treatments specifically aimed at this target group.
- Collaborate closely with behavioral scientists and paramedics to develop integrated treatment plans.
- Provide preventive care to prevent complications and improve clients' quality of life.
- Offer advice and training to colleagues and future Physicians for Intellectually Disabled Persons, contributing to the professionalization of care for the disabled.
- Demonstrate medical leadership, coordinate care processes, and stimulate innovations within the field.
- Actively contribute to the further improvement of care for this vulnerable target group within a multidisciplinary team.
Profile
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effortlessly switch between different levels of care.
- Ambitious and willing to actively contribute to the further professionalization of care for people with intellectual disabilities.
