A government organization faces various substantive and financial challenges in the coming years. As a strategic financial advisor, you are, together with two other strategists, responsible for strategic and policy-related issues. You focus on the social domain and strategic financial policy development. Additionally, you coordinate the Planning & Control (P&C) products. You collaborate with controllers and financial policy advisors to bring complex issues to a decision.
You identify developments, translate them into advice, and incorporate them into P&C products. An important task is to professionalize the Treasury function and provide sharp analyses and advice on this. You will guide a new strategic advisor in your areas of expertise.
What you will do.
- Provide proactive and reliable advice and support to the board and management
- Be a financial-strategic advisor & discussion partner for the board, portfolio holder for finance, and executive/management
- Co-lead financial policy development, for example on themes such as austerity strategy, asset policy, reserves & provisions, and risk management
- Coordinate P&C products such as Management Report and Perspective Note
- Advise strategically, future-oriented, and act as a business partner for the board and executive
- Periodically align with controllers and budget holders to facilitate insight and upfront steering
- Contribute to thinking about how to continuously improve systems
- Understand complex issues, translate them into concrete products, and involve colleagues in this process

- Demonstrable knowledge of applicable laws and regulations (BBV), guidelines, and procedures in the field of public finance
