Geriatric medicine is a broad field requiring a diverse approach.
- You will work for a warm and small-scale elderly care organization.
- Both self-employment and a permanent position are negotiable.
- There is room to organize your work flexibly within a professional medical team.
What you will do.
- Medically responsible for clients with diverse and sometimes complex care needs.
- Work with clients in somatic care, psychogeriatrics, and first-line residential care (ELV).
- Specialized departments focusing on gerontopsychiatry and Parkinson's disease, among others.
- Look beyond a diagnosis or treatment plan, focusing on medical needs and quality of life.
- Your activities include:
- medical diagnostics, treatment
- client visits and assessments
- coordination with nurses, caregivers, and other therapists
- medication policy and medical decision-making
- multidisciplinary consultations and case discussions
- contributing to the quality and development of the medical team
- contributing to policy and further development of elderly care (if desired)
- Opportunity to further develop a specific area of interest or expertise.
Profile
- Registered Geriatrician (Specialist Ouderengeneeskunde).
- Prefers to work independently but within a team.
- Engaged, strong communicator, and has a broad perspective on the client.
- Experience or affinity with gerontopsychiatry is welcome but not a strict requirement.
- Possesses a driving license and own transportation.
Practical
- You will join a dedicated medical team including Geriatricians, Nurse Specialists, Physician Assistants, and doctors in training.
- The organization is characterized by short lines of communication and close collaboration with general practitioners and other elderly care organizations.
