A large and dynamic regional hospital network in the province of Antwerp is looking for a specialist physician. The network originated from the merger of several general and specialized hospitals and is in full evolution. The gastroenterology, hepatology, and digestive oncology department has been a pioneer in collaboration across different campuses.
Due to the impending retirement of some colleagues and the temporary absence of one staff member, an additional colleague with an interest in functional gastrointestinal problems is sought. The intention is to further develop the motility and functional gastroenterology consultation. Interest in nutrition is a plus.
What you do
- Participate in outpatient and clinical care
- Monitor the quality and values of the department
- Be part of a large and collegial team
- Contribute to the further development of the motility and functional gastroenterology consultation
- Participate in multidisciplinary consultations (e.g., Small Pelvic Clinic) and patient discussions
What they ask
- Diploma as a specialist physician in gastroenterology
- Profession license homologated in Belgium
- Good knowledge of general gastroenterology and endoscopy
- Interest in the further development of motility and functional gastroenterology
- Experience in functional tests or willingness to undergo further training is an asset
- Interest in scientific research/participation in studies is a plus
- Team-oriented personality
- Attention to quality and continuity
- Provide clear and correct information to patients
- Collegial and complementary attitude towards colleagues and team members
- Respect, empathy
- Bilingual (NL/FR or NL/ENG)
Practical

- Multidisciplinary collaboration, including weekly patient meetings and monthly internal training sessions
- Independent agreement, possibility of a permanent contract after a 2-year trial period
- Workload negotiable, minimum 7/10th recommended
