To strengthen the Compensation & Benefits team, a research institute is looking for an enthusiastic Payroll Officer who thrives on accurate and efficient payroll and personnel administration. You will work in an exciting international environment with over 70 nationalities. You will join an experienced team that is jointly responsible for the payroll and personnel administration of more than 900 scientists and employees, spread across various research centers.
What you will do.
- Payroll processing: You are responsible for the payroll of one or more research centers (approx. 150 employees), with the support of a social secretariat.
- HR administration from A to Z: You manage files from onboarding to offboarding, including salary proposals, employment contracts, social documents, and leave requests.
- International employment: You support administrative processes related to international employment, such as applying for Single Permits.
- Advice and support: You are the point of contact for employees regarding payroll, extra-legal benefits, and social legislation.
- Collaboration: You work closely with colleagues from the payroll team and HR managers in the research centers.
Profile
- Several years of relevant experience in payroll. Experience with international employment or labor migration is a plus.
- Service-oriented and enjoys building lasting relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Works independently and takes ownership of own files, actively contributes to the team.
- Works accurately, structured, and with an eye for detail.
- Maintains overview during busier payroll periods and sets the right priorities.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.
- Familiar with common MS Office applications, including Excel.
- Good knowledge of Belgian social legislation and eager to continuously expand knowledge.
