For a hospital located in a dynamic and cross-border region, embarking on a historic modernization phase, a gastroenterologist is sought. The hospital will soon open a new, large hospital with nearly 600 beds. The Gastroenterology department is restructuring and developing to support its current activity and strengthen its pool of specialists in anticipation of the new facility's opening.
An internist will soon join the department to specifically manage the gastroenterology hospitalization floor, allowing gastroenterologists to primarily act as consultants and technical operators.
What you do
- Perform technical and interventional procedures
- Perform various diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies, as well as ERCPs (depending on skills)
- Manage external consultations and provide specialized advice for hospitalized patients (managed daily by the department's internist)
- Work on a modern technical platform including 2 dedicated procedure rooms and 1 operating room in the block (total 3 technical rooms)
- Participate in the on-call and standby duty of the department (mainly by phone on weekends, rare physical returns)
Profile
- Holder of a Specialist Doctor's diploma in Gastroenterology (or nearing completion of residency)
- Diploma allowing obtaining authorization to practice in Belgium (Visa/Accreditation) and registration with the Order of Physicians
- Profiles from the European Union or with diploma equivalence are welcome
- Excellent team spirit, strong sense of collaboration, listening, and mutual respect
- Proficiency in French
Practical
- Independent practitioner status (liberal status)
- Great flexibility in work time organization (adaptable rhythm from 1 to 5 days per week), with a minimum half-time commitment preferred for equitable participation in on-call duties
- Attractive financial model: integration into a global pool system for sharing fees (consultations + technical procedures), distributed proportionally to time worked
- Very high decision-making autonomy and the possibility to propose, acquire necessary equipment, and develop new medical techniques
- Administrative support for practitioners from abroad (France, Europe) regarding diploma recognition, establishment, and linguistic integration if necessary
