As a complex security officer at a government organization, you maintain peace and security within correctional facilities. You alternate between working at the central control room and physically supervising detainees and visitors, making the role varied and unique.
What you do
- Maintain order, peace, and security within the institution.
- Check visitors and staff upon entry.
- Accompany detainees to appointments or activities.
- Be involved in cell inspections.
- Monitor visitor rooms, common areas, and sections via cameras.
- Ensure safety and intervene when necessary.
- Be part of the emergency response organization (BHV).
- Opportunity to join an internal assistance team.
- Admit and register staff and visitors, overseeing security measures.
- Monitor isolation cells via cameras to intervene quickly in emergencies.
- Supervise conjugal visits and conduct body checks afterwards.
- Provide support during incidents, such as disputes.
- Oversee security around the building.
Profile
- MBO 2 working and thinking level (assessed with a capacity test).
- Interest in security and a focus on everyone's safety.
- Remain calm during tensions and act clearly and respectfully.
- Good physical and mental condition.
- Some technical knowledge of security systems and cameras, or the willingness to learn this.
- Good communication skills in Dutch.
- Willingness to work irregular shifts (day, evening, or night shifts).
- Stress-resistant, decisive, and strong in communication.
- Ability to adapt communication with detainees to the situation.

- Onboarding by an experienced colleague.
- 6-week internal training.
- Possibility to indicate a preferred schedule.
