ANIOS Rehabilitation Medicine

• Conduct consultations in the clinic at two locations of an academic medical center.
• Establish indications for treatments for medical specialist rehabilitation in an external clinic or for outpatient rehabilitation in the hospital.
• Perform emergency consultations at the outpatient clinic when necessary.
• Take rehabilitation medical history and perform physical examinations.
• Provide advice, explanations, and clarifications, and conduct family discussions.
• Maintain intensive contact with the paramedics involved in the treatment.
• Participate in various clinical multidisciplinary meetings.
• Gain experience and learn from specialized paramedics.
• Perform outpatient activities within the multidisciplinary diabetic foot team.
• After sufficient training, perform on-call duties (emergency care related to spasticity treatment via intrathecal baclofen).

Where and with whom you collaborate. The Rehabilitation Medicine department of an academic medical center performs activities at two locations. The majority of clinical consultations take place at one specific location, focusing on the neuro and trauma center. You will work closely with residents (AIOS) and be supervised daily by a staff member. The department is part of a regional training network and provides academic internships and various in-depth internships.

There is a good scientific and educational environment, where supervision focuses on teaching evidence-based and critical clinical reasoning. Key areas of the department include cerebral palsy, diabetic foot, multiple sclerosis, and neuromuscular disorders, with leading international research conducted in these areas.
