Renewing and maintaining the infrastructure, such as roads, cycle paths, bridges, locks, and waterways, is one of the most important tasks of a provincial organization. What you will do. As an environmental manager, you are responsible for safeguarding environmental aspects in various provincial projects. You are often the first point of contact for residents and organizations and can effectively translate various interests into opportunities and risks for the project to be executed.
- Contribute to the setup and execution of a plan for collaboration and coordination with the environment. Advise the project manager or client.
- Identify environmental risks and opportunities that influence the execution of a project.
- Collaborate with other environmental managers in larger projects.
- Organize information meetings, communicate project goals and approach, listen to the wishes and interests of all stakeholders, and incorporate them into the project.
- Engage in discussions with stakeholders where conflicting interests may arise, be creative in connecting interests, clearly explain why something is or isn't possible, present relevant information for decision-making, and provide feedback to stakeholders.
- Organize and monitor preparatory work in projects, such as requesting studies, permits, cables and pipelines, transfer files, and agreements.
- Ensure smooth handling of reports and complaints related to a project.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of work processes important for the environmental management team.
Profile
You are a connector with strong communication skills and can effortlessly navigate between various stakeholders and sometimes conflicting interests. You easily make contact, are reliable, and can restore trust in difficult situations. You quickly grasp the core of a situation and translate it into concrete actions in consultation with your project team. Even when many things are happening simultaneously, you maintain an overview in an administrative or social context.

Practical
- Salary according to functional scale 9 (between €3,560.55 and €5,008.58) based on knowledge and experience.
- Possibility to accrue ATV (reduction of working hours) hours.
- Attractive secondary employment conditions, including training opportunities, a bicycle lease plan, an Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 22.37% of the gross monthly salary, and a Personal Budget for Sustainable Employability (PBDI) of € 6,000 every five years.
- A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is required.
