As a basic doctor in Occupational and Social Health, you will discover a side of medicine that takes place outside the hospital. Instead of treating illness, the focus is on assessing functioning, capacity, and participation. You look not only at medical complaints but also at their impact on a client's daily life, work, and social position.
What you will do.
- You will conduct consultations where you speak with clients about their physical, psychological, and social situation.
- Based on these conversations and available medical information, you will form an independent medical judgment.
- You will assess the extent to which health complaints influence a client's functioning.
- You will provide careful advice on possibilities regarding work and participation.
- You will deal with various laws and regulations within social security, such as the Ziektewet (ZW) and the Wet werk en inkomen naar arbeidsvermogen (WIA).
- You will be challenged daily to assess complex issues from different perspectives.
Profile
- You have a valid BIG registration as a doctor.
- You are interested in Occupational and Social Health, social security, and social medicine.
- You are analytically strong and can carefully assess complex situations.
- You possess good communication skills.
