A government organization is looking for an experienced Communications Advisor for communication regarding shelter, asylum, and other socially sensitive issues. In this assignment, you will combine independent advice with concrete implementation and ensure that information reaches the right target group carefully, understandably, and at the right time.
What you will do.
- Responsible for communication around shelter locations, current developments, and participation moments.
- Identifying communication needs during developments, setting priorities, and translating these into appropriate approaches and concrete actions.
- Developing and updating information for residents, local residents, and other stakeholders.
- Writing resident letters, news messages, web texts, and Q&As.
- Providing communication around meetings and projects.
- Coordinating with translation agencies for non-Dutch speaking target groups where necessary.
- Working closely with communication colleagues, project and program staff, and policy advisors.
- Quickly switching in unexpected situations and coordinating with spokespersons or administrative communication in the event of politically and administratively sensitive developments.
Profile
- Minimum HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level.
- Minimum 4 years of demonstrable experience as a communications advisor.
- Minimum 3 years of experience within a government organization or other political-administrative context.
- Experience with socially and administratively sensitive communication.
- Experience with shelter, asylum, migration, or comparable social dossiers is a strong plus.
- Experience in independently translating strategic lines into communication approaches and concrete actions.
- Experience with public communication, resident communication, and stakeholder alignment.
- Willingness to occasionally work outside regular office hours in urgent developments.
- Meticulous, environmentally sensitive, independent, and strong in both advice and execution.
