Youth Worker

The organization accommodates young people aged 13 to 18 who have often experienced a lot. These young people need structure and regularity. As a youth worker, you guide them 24/7, so that from the age of 18 they can live independently in an reception center, their country of origin, or their own home in the Netherlands.

What you will do.

• Regularly conduct mentor interviews with young people as a dedicated supervisor.
• Maintain contact with external organizations and aid workers, such as guardians, schools, and general practitioners.
• Ensure a safe and livable residential environment.
• Be a visible point of contact for the young people.
• Work closely within a team and participate in meetings and intervision discussions.

What they ask

• Education: relevant HBO or WO diploma (Social Work, MWD, SPH, CMV, Teacher Training, Pedagogy, Psychology, or another diploma within Social Sciences).
• SKJ registration or the possibility to obtain it within two years.
• Work experience: preferably in youth care, mental health care, within a care institution, and/or welfare work.
• Personality: stand firm, be empathetic without losing professional distance, and be clear in setting boundaries.
• Flexibility: availability for day, evening, night, and weekend shifts (night shifts are always wake-up shifts). This is a strict requirement for this position.
• A relevant MBO diploma combined with an SKJ registration is also welcome.
