Support Worker
You provide meaningful support to people in need, especially outside office hours. You work for a care organization at various locations and make a difference in the evenings, nights, and weekends. This is when calm needs to be restored, situations can escalate, or clients have an extra need for proximity and clarity. You work with a broad and often complex target group, where issues related to addiction, psychiatry, homelessness, mild intellectual disabilities, and social or judicial challenges may play a role.

What you will do.
- Support clients with practical questions and daily situations that arise during your shift.
- Identify requests for help and changes in behavior and respond appropriately.
- Contribute to de-escalating and stabilizing restless or unsafe situations.
- Provide structure, clarity, and proximity when clients need it.
- Liaise, if necessary, with colleagues, on-call services, or chain partners such as mental health crisis services, police, or housing management.
- Contribute ideas and offer support to on-site teams.
- Ensure clear reporting so that colleagues can effectively follow up in subsequent shifts.
Profile
You have a warm, engaged attitude and know how to motivate and support people. You are patient, flexible, and can work well in a team. You remain calm in stressful situations and know how to act in a practical and solution-oriented manner. You can and dare to address others in a relaxed way about undesirable behavior.
What they ask
- An MBO level 4 diploma in Social Care or Social Work or another comparable education.
- Experience in care/welfare/social shelter is a plus.
- Familiarity with the specific problems in social shelter is a plus.
- Flexibility to work evenings, nights, and weekends.
