Operational Safety Advisor for Training

You contribute to safe, realistic, and professionally designed training courses within a specialized defense unit.
- You translate safety risks and applicable frameworks into practical measures for education and training.
- You help instructors, curriculum developers, and military personnel in training to work safely without losing sight of the operational objective.
- You advise curriculum developers and instructors on physical safety in the educational process.
- You assess risks, draw up research and advisory plans, and help embed safety measures in lesson and training programs.
- You follow developments in the field, assess their implications for the defense unit, and connect practical experience on the work floor with decision-making at staff level.
- You work within an informal and committed team.
- You divide your time between the office and the locations where training and education take place.
- Regular business trips are part of the role.

- Ensuring operational safety: You ensure physical safety during the design, preparation, and execution of education and training.
- Tailored safety advice: You analyze risks, draw up research and advisory plans, and advise on workable control measures.
- Creating awareness: You support instructors in increasing risk awareness and safe conduct during training.
- Quality assurance and innovation: You assess new insights, methods, and techniques and translate them into applicable improvements within the defense unit.
- Stakeholder management: You coordinate safety issues and necessary measures with subject matter experts (SMEs), instructors, units, and fellow advisors.

- Integrity and sense of responsibility: You handle sensitive information with care and consistently act from a professional safety awareness.
Practical
- A security screening (VGB) is part of the application process.
- It is necessary that you, as a civilian applicant, have Dutch nationality.
- Providing a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is a condition for appointment.
- A security screening and reference check may also be part of the selection procedure. This involves a background check on, among other things, criminal records and financial matters.
