As a triage nurse for a medical contact center, you are the first point of contact for patients. You assess the care request, determine the urgency, and ensure that everyone receives the right help quickly. You work in a close-knit and down-to-earth team. The medical contact center provides remote general practitioner care day and night to various target groups, including asylum seekers and detainees.
What you will do.
- You ask the right questions by phone to clarify the patient's care request and then determine the urgency.
- You process the information in various systems.
- You engage an interpreter if necessary to accurately understand the care request.
- You ensure that the correct healthcare professional is engaged and the appropriate follow-up steps are taken.
- You work closely with fellow triage nurses and under the supervision of a supervising physician who is always available for consultation.
- You will initially be trained in healthcare for asylum seekers and can later be trained for medical care for detainees.
Profile
- You are a qualified MBO or HBO nurse, doctor's assistant, or a medical student with a bachelor's degree.
- If necessary, you will follow a triage training.
- You have an affinity with general practitioner care and an interest in caring for special target groups.
- You speak good Dutch and English.
- Proficiency in the Arabic language is a plus.
