Personal Injury Claims Adjuster
After an accident, a lot comes at a person. As a personal injury claims adjuster, you help insured parties and victims with attention and clarity. You handle complex files, visit victims at home, and keep an eye on the person behind the damage. You help people move forward in sometimes emotionally charged situations, with clear communication and well-considered decisions.
What you will do. As a personal injury claims adjuster, you will work within a cooperative insurer where personal attention and careful claims handling are central.
- You are responsible for your files from start to finish and the fixed point of contact for insured parties, victims, and representatives.
- You map the impact of personal injury and fatal injury on medical, personal, and work-related levels.
- In consultation with those involved, you draw up the statement of claim and make agreements about the progress and approach of the file.
- You strive for an appropriate and expeditious handling of each file.
- Independently assess coverage and liability.
- Handle files according to the Code of Conduct for Personal Injury Claims Handling (GBL).
- Manage the entire personal injury claims process.
- Actively maintain contact with insured parties, representatives, medical advisors, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct home visits and hold (recovery) discussions with those involved.
- Monitor the progress, deadlines, and quality of files.
- Independently make decisions and propose initiatives within files.
Profile
In this role, you will work on files where legal, medical, and human interests converge. This requires a careful way of working, an overview, and the ability to properly weigh different interests against each other. You are able to communicate clearly and make well-considered decisions in complex and sometimes emotionally charged situations.
- HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level.
- Experience as a personal injury claims adjuster in the field.
- Knowledge of liability law and relevant laws and regulations.
- Preferably a NIVRE registration or the willingness to follow this trajectory.
- An independent, decisive, and accurate work attitude.
- Driving license B.
