An international performing arts festival is looking for a technical coordination assistant for a fixed term. The festival focuses on contemporary theatre and dance, performance, and visual arts, presenting challenging artistic creations at various cultural venues and in public spaces.
What You Will Do. As a technical coordination assistant, you will be part of the technical staff and contribute to the preparation and realization of artistic projects at various locations.
Tasks.
- Preparation of the supervision of artistic projects in consultation with partner theatres: negotiations with artists and their planning, material & props, grandstand, various technicians & costume staff, surtitling, set transport, infrastructure at locations.
- Follow-up of technical equipment in collaboration with the logistics technical staff assistant.
- Exchange of information between the artists involved, partner theatre personnel, the technical staff, and other festival departments.
In Preparation For The Festival.
- Direct technical follow-up of artistic projects.
- Attending staff and technical meetings.
- Comparison of technical specifications of projects with available technical equipment in the various venues.
- Management of festival material and determination of material to be rented.
- Requesting and following up on quotes for the rental of technical equipment.
- Advice on drawing up the technical team's schedules.
- Technical preparation of the discursive program, Free School & nightlife.
During The Festival.
- Attending staff and technical meetings.
- Follow-up of various setups, presentations, and dismantling.
- Supervision of the qualitative technical execution of projects, including regular contact with technical managers, presence during setups, dismantling, rehearsals, and performances, and providing technical solutions by actively intervening if necessary.
- Follow-up of technical equipment.
- Monitoring compliance with various laws and standards regarding the safety and well-being of teams and the public.
Profile
- Very good knowledge of the technical aspects of artistic projects (theatre, dance, installation, exhibition).
- Good understanding of the artistic sector.
- Efficient, accurate, and solution-oriented.
- Strong in organizing and planning.
- Flexibility to guide artists in their creative process.
- Communicative and diplomatic.
- Very good knowledge of Dutch or French, and good knowledge of the other language (French or Dutch) and English.
- Proficient with computer applications and quick to learn new software.
- Technical knowledge of computer applications such as Google Suite, AutoCad, VectorWorks, SketchUp, and Yesplan.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends during the festival.
