Due to the retirement of several colleagues and a temporary staffing shortage, an educational institution is seeking to strengthen its team. You will help students, with your practical experience, to look at complex safety issues with a professional perspective.
What you do
- Provide education within full-time and part-time programs and Lifelong Learning (LLO) activities
- Coach and guide students in their study careers
- Supervise and assess assignments, internships, and graduation projects
- Contribute, from your expertise, to the (further) development of the curriculum
- Maintain active connections with the professional field
- Collaborate in semester teams and with colleagues at different locations
- During workshops, students work on realistic practical issues, such as drafting a safety plan, developing scenarios for crisis simulations, and organizing a hackathon
- Regular consultation with colleague (project) lecturers
- Education for adult students and professionals requires a strongly practice-oriented, flexibly structured didactic approach, aligning with their work experience and own case studies
- Actively utilize the expertise of professionals and create a learning environment where learning from and with each other is central
Profile
- Relevant master's degree (obtained, nearly obtained, or willing to obtain)
- Several years of relevant work experience within the public and/or private safety sector
- Pedagogical qualification (or willing to obtain)
- Affinity with guiding students and professionals
- Relevant network within the safety domain
- Deployable at multiple locations of the educational institution
Competencies.
- Connect practice and theory in an inspiring way
- Solution-oriented and able to organize activities
- Capable of working independently as well as actively collaborating with colleagues
Background.
- Experience with a municipality (public order and safety), safety region, police, defense, fire department, or public prosecution service
- Experience in safety & security within the business sector (KAM/QESH, risk, compliance)
- Worked (or currently working) as an advisor or supervisor
- Energized by sharing knowledge, coaching
- Ready for a next step with societal impact
