Healthcare Psychologist

As a healthcare psychologist, you will work within a specialized expertise center with a unique target group: clients who, in addition to psychological complaints, also have an auditory impairment. You will have the opportunity to make a real impact within a committed team.

What you will do.

  • You will be the primary therapist and conduct intakes, diagnostics, and treatments.
  • You work with both outpatient clients and clients admitted to the clinic.
  • You will receive support from Dutch Sign Language interpreters and follow training to learn sign language yourself.
  • You help clients for whom it is sometimes difficult to distinguish what belongs to deafness and what belongs to the psychiatric picture.
  • You work with the client to establish perspective and stability.
  • You actively involve deaf culture in your treatment approach.
  • You collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, communication experts, creative therapists, social workers, and nurses.
  • Your contribution is essential in providing appropriate, respectful, and effective care.

Profile

  • You find it important to make genuine contact, even if it requires a different way of communicating.
  • You are independent but also enjoy working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • You show initiative, think in possibilities, and have a keen eye for what your client needs.

What they ask

  • Completed training as a healthcare psychologist (GZ-psycholoog) and BIG-registered.
  • Possess an AGB code or the ability to apply for one.
  • Experience with psychiatric research and treatment methods.
  • Willingness to learn sign language and immerse yourself in deaf culture.
  • Ability to independently draw up and implement indications and treatment plans.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferences.

  • Experience with consultation and guidance of colleagues.
