Platform Engineer

• Managing and optimizing platforms on which software applications run.
• Developing automation solutions to reduce repetitive tasks.
• Collaborating with development teams on a smooth and reliable development environment.
• Supporting the full application lifecycle: development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Advising on tools such as Git and implementing Build & Deployment pipelines.
• Providing training, coaching, and knowledge transfer to development teams.
• Designing, improving, and managing platform components and automation.
• Implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Setting up and managing container platforms with Docker, Kubernetes, and AKS.
• Assisting with troubleshooting, incident analysis, and structural problem solving.
• Setting up monitoring, logging, and quality assurance with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Documenting solutions, standards, and best practices.

What they ask

• Bachelor's degree (BA) in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a platform engineer.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with computing concepts and services such as Azure.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with tools such as Terraform and ARM templates.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Minimum 2 years of experience and knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for managing and scaling applications.
• Fluent in Dutch, both spoken and written.

Preferences.

• Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator Associate, and Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Experience in implementing monitoring and logging solutions such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Description of the approach for the work to be performed given the specific challenge of a government organization.
• Description of two crucial bottlenecks that often occur with CI/CD, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and platform management, and how these are resolved using AI.
