Alcohol Act Supervisor
As an Alcohol Act Supervisor (BOA), you will be the host or hostess for a specific region within a government organization. You will take corrective and/or verbalizing action, advise on the application of administrative coercion, and ensure the handling of formal decision-making. In the role of advisor, you will monitor and signal developments and provide advice on them, conduct research, and advise on the translation into policy, regulations, and procedures.
You are responsible for inventorying risks and reporting on them to management. You also assess the quality and quantity of products and protocols. The assignment also includes information provision and administration.
What you do
- Supervises and conducts checks at catering establishments, commercial venues, supermarkets, and liquor stores.
- Monitors compliance with liquor and catering licenses, the provision of alcohol to minors, and permits/exemptions.
- Checks compliance with the Gambling Act, including gaming machines/slot machines.
- Draws up an official report or fine report where necessary.
- Provides input at an administrative level to various chain partners (legal professionals).
- Conducts research and advises on the translation into policy, regulations, and procedures.
- Inventories risks and reports on them to management.
- Assesses the quality and quantity of products and protocols.
- Provides information and instructions to the public/stakeholders.
- Reports on findings and handles the administrative and procedural processing of enforcement cases.
- Has a signaling function towards chain partners such as the police.
What they ask
- Demonstrably completed BOA training.
- Demonstrable certification in Alcohol Legislation or demonstrably completed before November 1, 2026.
- Demonstrable work experience as a BOA and/or supervisor in public spaces.
- Demonstrable knowledge and/or work experience with region-oriented work.
- Agrees to the stated secondment conditions.
Preferences.
- Demonstrable work experience in the past 3 years of at least 6 full calendar months with region-oriented work.
