What you do
As an AI Developer, you will not only build smart applications but also contribute to an AI landscape where data, models, and infrastructure remain as much as possible under internal control. You design, develop, and manage AI solutions that meet the information needs of the organization. You develop AI applications that are hosted locally within the organization's infrastructure.
- Developing AI applications for employees and policymakers.
- Building RAG solutions that retrieve information from organizational documents and registration systems.
- Developing intelligent search and answer systems.
- Designing data models for AI applications.
- Bringing locally hosted AI applications running on internal infrastructure into production.
- Designing and implementing user interfaces.
- Contributing to AI governance, privacy, security, and explainability.
- Advising colleagues on the possibilities and limitations of AI.
- Conducting experiments, proof-of-concepts, and innovation projects.
- Collaborating with researchers, data scientists, BI specialists, and data warehouse developers.

You are curious, analytical, and enjoy making new technology practically applicable. You can translate complex technical issues into solutions that genuinely help colleagues.
What they ask
- Completed HBO or WO education in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable field.
- Work experience with Python, NumPy, Docker, Django, Linux, and Transformers, PyTorch.
- Experience with AI development, LLMs, and APIs.
- Knowledge of retrieval, embeddings, vector databases, and RAG architectures, SQL, Git, and modern software development methods.
- Affinity with government information, privacy, and information security.
Preferences.
- Experience with self-hosting LLMs or other local AI models.
- Experience with user interfaces.
- Experience with bringing AI models into production on local hardware (not cloud).
- Experience with AI governance and Responsible AI.
