Within the financial policy team of a government organization, financial advisors work. They are the primary sparring partner and point of contact for portfolio holders, managers, and policy officers. Advice is provided at tactical and operational levels, with an emphasis on the tactical level. The organization has been working with a new financial system, ERPx Unit4, since January 1, 2024.
What you will do.
- Collaborate on drafting the perspective note, budget, progress reports, and annual accounts.
- Ensure they are qualitatively sound and completed on time.
- Provide solicited and unsolicited advice on important current issues.
- Discuss with budget holders and official clients (DT/MT members) the realization, forecasts, and expenditure of budgets.
- Assess proposals for (financial) feasibility.
- Report on outcomes and risks.
- Help optimize processes where necessary.
Profile
- Able to independently tackle dossiers in the Social Domain.
- Able to quickly get up to speed, contribute ideas, and provide both solicited and unsolicited advice.
- Be a strong sparring partner for the board, management, and (policy) staff.
- Able to motivate teams and support them in the proper and timely execution of all tasks related to financial management.
- Help them stay financially in control.
- Proactively contribute ideas and advise on developments within the Financial Policy team.
What they ask
- Demonstrable completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level.
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 5 years in the role of financial advisor.
Preferences.
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience with the entire planning & control cycle process and/or financial advice on themes in the role of financial advisor.
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrable work experience in the role of financial advisor at a municipality.
- Demonstrable work experience with drafting and/or working with the products from the P&C cycle in the role of financial advisor.
- Demonstrable work experience in the past 3 years in the role of financial advisor within the social domain.
- Demonstrable work experience with the financial system ERPx- Unit4 within a municipality.
