Young people aged 13 to 18 who are accommodated have often experienced a lot. They need structure and regularity. This requires knowledge and skills from you as a youth worker. They are supervised 24/7 so that from the age of 18, they can live independently in a reception center, their country of origin, or their own home in the Netherlands.
What you do
- As a dedicated supervisor, you regularly conduct mentoring interviews with the young people.
- You maintain contact with external organizations and aid workers, such as the guardian, school, and general practitioner.
- You ensure a safe and livable residential environment.
- You are a visible point of contact for the young people.
- You work closely with colleagues within a team.
- You participate in regular meetings and intervision discussions to ensure quality.
What they ask
- Education: a relevant HBO (higher professional education) or WO (university) diploma: Social Work, MWD, SPH, CMV, Teacher Training, Pedagogy, Psychology, or another diploma within the Social Sciences.
- SKJ registration: you are SKJ registered or have the possibility to obtain your SKJ registration within two years.
- Work experience: preferably work experience in youth care, mental health care, within a care institution, and/or welfare work.
- Personality: you are resilient, empathetic without losing professional distance, and clear in setting boundaries.
- Flexibility: availability for day, evening, night, and weekend shifts (night shifts are always waking shifts). This is a strict requirement for this position.
- MBO education: a relevant MBO (intermediate vocational education) in combination with an SKJ registration is also welcome.
Practical
- Salary: between € 3,665.74 and € 5,082.73 gross per month, based on 36 hours.
- Employment: initially a one-year contract, with the possibility of a permanent contract.
- Secondary employment conditions: travel allowance (€ 0.25 per km), individual choice budget (18% of annual salary), pension scheme, career budget, and vitality hours.
- Vacation leave: 144 hours for a full-time employment, with the option to purchase an additional 26 hours of leave.
- Development: a career budget of 1.5% of your monthly salary for, for example, following a training or course.
- Pre-employment screening: application for a Certificate of Conduct (VOG), diploma and certificate verification, and identity check.
