For an organization that is part of an international logistics group, we are looking for an enthusiastic customs declarant.
What you do
- Prepare customs declarations for cross-border transport
- Draft file instructions for correct handling of import and export transactions
- Identify customs irregularities and report them to management
- Maintain contacts with customs and clients, and advise on operational matters
- Submit appeals, Binding Tariff Information (BTI) applications and regularizations, and conduct customs correspondence in consultation
- Prepare and follow up on BFV and excise declarations, apply for permits for customs warehouses and/or VAT warehouses
- Apply customs tariffs based on the nomenclature and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
Profile
- First experience as a customs declarant or knowledge of customs, transport, and VAT legislation
- Affinity with forwarding, transport, and logistics, and knowledge of fiscal representation
- Good command of Dutch and English, knowledge of French and German is a plus
- Accurate, customer-oriented, and assertive attitude, with excellent communication skills
