As a nurse in the surgery department, you will work within the medical specialisms of orthopedics, ophthalmology, plastic surgery, and ENT. In this department, you will care for patients undergoing planned procedures. Additionally, there are often trauma patients. Traumatology treatment focuses on injuries (wounds, fractures, dislocations...) caused by accidents or violence and their surgical treatment.
What you will do.
- Provide professional and integral care to patients.
- Be competent in performing technical nursing procedures.
- Administer necessary medication according to the medication schedule.
- Support, inform, and care for the patient and their family.
- Ensure necessary administration and registration in the patient file.
- Report to the head nurse.
Profile
- You hold a professional bachelor's degree in nursing or a graduate degree in nursing.
- You have knowledge of department-specific nursing problems and a basic understanding of underlying pathology and common procedures, or an interest in developing this.
- You can collaborate constructively in a team but also work very independently.
- You are willing to further train in the typical pathology of the department's patients (ortho, trauma, plastic, ophthalmo, ENT...).
- You are attentive to the patient's and their family's experience and are customer-oriented.
- You have good observation skills and clinical insight.
