Work Supervisor

In this role, you guide incarcerated individuals in a workshop where they perform simple production work. You ensure they can work daily, providing them with meaningful daytime activities. Thanks to your efforts, they are well-prepared for a successful return to society.

What you do

  • Guide and motivate a group of up to 24 incarcerated individuals during their activities in a workshop or workroom.
  • The work content primarily consists of production tasks, such as making parts and labeling products.
  • Ensure proper execution of work and timely delivery of products for the client.
  • Play an important motivating and coaching role, encouraging good work and helping them stay motivated.
  • Conduct firm discussions and set clear boundaries.
  • Take the lead and ensure rules are followed, while supporting the development of the incarcerated individuals.
  • Prepare the workroom and distribute tasks.
  • Guide individuals during their work, providing explanations, answering questions, and assisting when needed.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as ordering goods, sending invoices, and tracking hours.
  • Conduct progress discussions about their development.
  • Maintain contact with clients to ensure products and assignments meet agreed standards.

  • Demonstrable MBO 4 work and thinking level (assessed with a capacity test).
  • Some experience working in production, maintenance, logistics, metal, bread/pastry, woodworking, textile, or building maintenance.
  • Good communication skills in Dutch and preferably also in English.
  • Good physical and mental condition.
  • Enjoys working with groups of people and helping them progress, even when facing resistance.
  • Good at explaining, alert, and always mindful of safety.

Practical

  • Onboarding period of 8 weeks with generic and function-specific training.
  • Full-time availability during training weeks, training during working hours and at the organization's expense.
  • Application procedure includes an online home test (capacity test, questionnaires), a selection day (two interviews, capacity test check, physical aptitude test), a VOG (Certificate of Conduct) application, and a medical examination.
