Responsible for the further operationalization of Data & AI Governance.
- Translates governance principles into workable processes, roles, controls, and measurable results.
- This is a long-term assignment with an organization.
What you do
- Translate the Data & AI Governance vision into a pragmatic implementation roadmap.
- Implement and operationalize governance principles around data ownership, data quality, metadata, lineage, privacy, and AI risk management.
- Activate and guide roles such as Data & AI Asset Owners and Data Stewards within the various business domains.
- Support the further development and operationalization of a decentralized governance operating model.
- Integrate governance principles into the entire data and AI lifecycle following a “governance by design” approach.
- Support priority business initiatives and strategic use cases in applying governance requirements.
- Co-design and implement the AI Governance framework in line with the AI strategy, Responsible AI principles, group guidelines, and relevant regulations such as the EU AI Act.
- Guide selected strategic AI use cases in applying AI Governance principles, including accountability, transparency, explainability, model risks, monitoring, and controllability.
- Define minimal governance controls for the development, implementation, and follow-up of AI solutions.
- Collaborate with AI teams, business stakeholders, Risk, Compliance, and Legal to practically and scalably embed AI Governance within the organization.
- Set up a pragmatic governance approach for AI use cases that builds experience, strengthens governance capabilities, and creates reusable best practices.
- Define and monitor KPIs, maturity indicators, and governance deliverables.
- Report on progress, risks, and the realized impact of governance initiatives.
- Contribute to the further development and adoption of governance tooling such as Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and related platforms.
- Act as a substantive sparring partner for management and stakeholders regarding Data & AI Governance.
What they ask
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, data strategy, data office, or similar roles.
- Demonstrable experience with implementing governance frameworks within complex organizations.
- Strong knowledge of Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Metadata Management, and Data Lineage.
- Experience with AI Governance, Responsible AI, and relevant regulations such as the EU AI Act and GDPR.
- Experience with defining and activating governance roles, operating models, and decision-making processes.
- Experience with guiding organizations through governance and change processes.
- Knowledge of governance tooling such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, or similar platforms.
- Insight into modern data and AI platforms within cloud environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge between business, IT, data, AI, and risk functions.
- Independent, hands-on, and results-oriented, with a pragmatic mindset.
- Fluent communication in Dutch and English.
Nice-to-have.
- Experience within the insurance sector or another highly regulated environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform, AI platforms, or MLOps environments.
- Experience with the implementation of AI Governance within concrete business use cases.
- Experience with organizational change and governance transformations in a decentralized context.
