An experienced Merchandise Planner is sought for a fashion company, responsible for six months for the merchandise planning of consignment partners. The role is crucial in driving customer performance. You combine sharp analyses with commercial insight, identify opportunities, and translate them into concrete actions to optimize sales and inventory performance. You will work intensively with the involved commercial and operational teams.
What you will do.
- Data analysis & forecasting: Analyze sales figures and inventory levels at customers and create accurate forecasts to ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time. Monitor budgets, sell-through, and availability per point of sale.
- Performance optimization: Monitor and drive customer performance through data-driven insights and proactive recommendations.
- Communication with partners: Maintain a strong relationship with retail partners, advise them based on analyses, and collaborate on how to achieve the best results together.
- Collaborate with partners on the selection and arrangement of the seasonal collection during the buying season.
- Internal collaboration: Work closely with the Sales, Product Development, IT, and Logistics departments.
- Reporting: Develop and present reports on sales performance, inventory management, and market dynamics.
Profile
- HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level and relevant experience as a Merchandise Planner, preferably within retail, fashion, or a similar commercial environment; consignment experience is a plus.
- Strong in forecasting, inventory control, budget monitoring, and commercial analysis.
- Extensive knowledge of Excel; experience with planning, ERP, and BI systems is a plus.
- Analytical, accurate, pragmatic, and results-oriented.
- Communicates clearly and knows how to involve various stakeholders in their advice.
- Experience in implementation projects for ERP and allocation systems is a plus.
- Perfect command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken.
