The Public Space and Buildings Management department of a public organization is urgently looking for a temporary tree advisor/work planner for trees. You are a fully qualified specialist who can be deployed immediately and independently. You will be part of the Green, Sport and Play team, which is responsible for maintaining the outdoor space.
What you do
- Translating established management plans into concrete activities, projects, and maintenance contracts.
- Drawing up work descriptions.
- Preparing tenders for maintenance.
- Supervising contractors to ensure work is carried out according to the contract.
- Assessing public space design plans for management and implementation aspects.
- Advising residents on complaints, reports, questions, or initiatives.
- Supporting data processing of information in a municipal management system.
- Assessing felling applications for private trees.
- Applying for permits for felling municipal trees.
- Translating results of tree safety inspections (TSI) into necessary measures.
- Drawing up lists of measures for pruning and felling activities.
- Purchasing planting material for replacement trees and plantings.
- Assessing emergency felling and/or other corrective tree maintenance.
- Drawing up and assessing tree advice, including tree impact assessments.
- Drawing up and assessing reports for illegal felling.
- Providing substantive support and advice for legal processes concerning trees.
What they ask
- Minimum of 4 years demonstrable work experience in the past 7 years as a work planner or green space manager within a public organization.
- Demonstrably in possession of a valid VCA certificate.
- An additional completed certification and/or training in tree safety.
- Bring your own device applies; no IT resources (laptop, phone, and accessories) will be provided.
Preferences.
- Demonstrable work experience with a specific management system (Greenpoint) within a public organization.
- Demonstrably certified as a Tree Safety Inspector.
- Minimum of 3 years demonstrable work experience with processing additional/reduced work from contractors in green maintenance.
