Within a government organization, every second counts in emergency situations. Your work ensures that emergency responders have up-to-date and clear maps with crucial information about buildings, risks, and facilities. You contribute to the rapid and safe deployment of emergency services by ensuring that the right information is available at the right time for colleagues in the field.
What you do
- You create and manage digital accessibility maps for emergency services.
- You collect and analyze crucial information about objects with special characteristics or increased risk in case of fire and accidents (industrial complexes, infrastructural objects, hazardous material locations, buildings with less self-reliant people).
- You retrieve data from construction drawings, floor plans, and permits, or verify the situation on-site.
- You process information from construction drawings and floor plans.
- You map special objects and risks.
- You graphically display operational information with symbols, colors, and text.
- You coordinate with colleagues from other departments, including Risk and Crisis Management and the emergency response unit.
- You work with QGIS to create maps used for orientations, exercises, and incident management.
- You translate data from Risk and Crisis Management into practical information for emergency services.
Profile
- You enjoy researching, analyzing, and presenting information clearly.
- You can distinguish between main and secondary issues and extract precisely what is operationally relevant from large amounts of information.
- If certain information is not available, you are assertive in obtaining it and actively seek collaboration.
- You are open to taking on supporting tasks necessary to prepare emergency services for incident response, such as updating systems.
- MBO/HBO working and thinking level.
- Affinity with emergency services or knowledge of the field.
- Good digital skills and experience with MS Office.
- Good command of the Dutch language.
- Affinity with information management, GIS, or map material.
- Intrinsic motivation to continuously develop yourself.
- Experience with QGIS is a plus, but not a requirement; training will be provided.
- You are able to navigate changes in work content, for example, due to the advent of AI.
Practical
- You will be part of a team within the Operational Preparation department.
- A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is required.
- The organization recruits without the intervention of recruitment and selection agencies.
