Risk Management Officer

An international organization is seeking a Risk Management Officer. You will be responsible for all risk management activities related to common funding, providing advice and support to the Office of Resources, and developing new policies as necessary.

You will further be responsible for the implementation of the Risk Management and Tolerances Framework, including any changes based on lessons identified, and for change management across all relevant stakeholders, ensuring governance decision-making is risk-informed.

What you will do.

• Expertise Development: Apply expertise, consider options and provide recommendations for continued improvement of risk management at all levels and across all dimensions in the delivery of common-funded capabilities and common funding resource management.
• Provide expert advice to the Director of the Office of Resources, the resource committees, Strategic Commanders, Agencies, and member nations on common-funded capability planning and delivery.
• Advise on how risk and the associated tolerances can be integrated into the organization's resource planning/management and information management.
• Support stakeholders to remain abreast of developments on policy updates related to risk management.
• Foster a risk culture through training and outreach activities, providing stakeholders with relevant techniques to perform risk management.
• Project Management: Develop and deliver risk and opportunity assessments for critical capability programs at the strategic level.
• Address the resource and operational risk for capability programs, and provide recommendations on actions to mitigate identified risks.
• Support the Director of the Office of Resources in establishing a holistic approach to risk management within the Office and in Office assessments to governance.
• Policy Development: Contribute to the development of the organization's common funding risk management policies as required.
• Draft and coordinate new policies, processes, and templates related to risk management amongst all stakeholders.
• Promote proactive and positive assurance through risk culture and drive coherence in processes supporting governance risk appetite.
• Establish a coordination mechanism for risk management with all stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Management: Develop and coordinate a broad network with stakeholders involved in the development and implementation of common-funded capability delivery within the organization.
• Support meetings conducted by the Office of Resources for the organization's common funded capabilities, involving various organization and partner stakeholders in the capability communities.

What they ask

• Possess a university degree or an equivalent level of qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Have at least 5 years of experience in implementation of risk management systems in a national administration, international environment or public/private sector.
• Have experience in the use of risk management and portfolio/program information management tools.
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Possess the following minimum levels of official languages (English/French): V ("Advanced") in one; I ("Beginner") in the other.

Desirable.

• Knowledge of risk management frameworks and standards.
• Project management qualification (PRINCE2, Agile, PMP, etc.).
• Experience advising and briefing senior military and political leaders concerning risk management.
