You own the product: turn strategy, customer need and regulation into a coherent backlog, keep each increment shippable, and keep business, risk, legal and delivery aligned.
What you do
- Product vision, roadmap and a prioritised backlog with measurable acceptance criteria
- User stories, refinement and sprint planning with a Scrum Master and delivery team
- Prioritise by customer impact, commercial objectives, capacity, technical constraints and user feedback
- Stakeholders: business, risk, legal, compliance, architects and IT — including regulatory design and audit traceability
- Demos, change enablement and end-user adoption
- Work with other Product Owners on key programs
Profile
- Senior / Expert product ownership experience (~7+ years; expert tracks often ~10+ years)
- Proven banking or insurance work in Belgium (or transferable regulated financial services)
- Backlog ownership: features, user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint coherence
- Experience with stakeholders including business, risk and legal — not only the delivery team
- Regulatory and legal aspects folded into design, with audit traceability
- Agile with a Scrum Master; experience with change enablement and adoption
- Comfortable with a hybrid work environment in the region
- Current demand especially in credit / lending, payments, securities, fraud, AML / KYC, CSRD, Basel IV, data transformation programs, and business-client channels
- Structured, analytical, independent on client site
- Relevant degree; CSPO / SAFe PO a plus
- Experience with a freelance / B2B setup for Belgian client contracting
Languages.
- French or Dutch at professional level (required on most mandates — mandate-specific which one)
- English (some fraud / AML mandates need both NL and FR; instant payments needs strong FR + EN)
