Land and Real Estate Lawyer
A growing government organization is seeking senior legal expertise in the field of land affairs, real estate, and area development. The objective is to independently handle and finalize dossiers related to organizational land and real estate, and to provide legal expertise within area development projects. The emphasis is on legally sound agreements, managing legal risks, and safeguarding the organization's interests.
What you do
- Independently handle and legally finalize land and real estate dossiers.
- Provide adequate legal advice within area development projects.
- Draft, review, and process (purchase) agreements for land and real estate transactions.
- Draft and update lease agreements with various parties.
- Draft and apply anti-spéculation clauses and other contractual conditions.
- Establish, modify, and terminate real rights, including long lease, superficies, and easements.
- Advise on the use of organizational land and real estate, including granting use and usage issues.
- Draft, review, and process anterior agreements for private initiatives.
- Conduct discussions and negotiations with involved parties.
- Monitor compliance with contractual agreements.
- Draft and review complex anterior agreements and cooperation agreements.
- Provide legal advice within project teams.
- Legally support negotiations with market parties.
- Identify, assess, and manage legal risks within area development projects.
Profile
- Sufficient seniority and legal expertise in land affairs, real estate, and area development to independently handle dossiers.
- Flexible deployment within various project teams.
- Execution takes place in conjunction with involved internal and external parties, including market parties.
- Safeguarding the legal and contractual interests of the organization.
- Independently taking on dossiers and having the freedom to determine how these dossiers are handled based on one's own legal expertise.
- Operating independently based on one's own legal expertise within area development projects, in coordination and collaboration with the relevant project teams and involved parties.
What they ask
- Minimum of 4 years demonstrable work experience in the past 8 years as a land affairs lawyer, real estate lawyer, and/or similar legal function.
- Demonstrable work experience with real rights related to land and real estate, including long lease, superficies, and/or easements.
- Demonstrable work experience with independently conducting negotiations and advising on legal issues concerning land affairs, real estate, and/or area development.
- Completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level.
Preferences.
- Minimum of 6 years demonstrable work experience as a land affairs lawyer and/or real estate lawyer at a government organization, with demonstrable experience in lease and usage agreements, real rights, and regular land and real estate transactions.
- Minimum of 3 years demonstrable work experience with independently drafting, reviewing, and processing anterior agreements for private initiatives.
- Minimum of 2 years demonstrable work experience in the past 6 years with legal advice within area development projects, including drafting and/or reviewing complex anterior agreements and/or cooperation agreements and advising within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Demonstrable work experience with drafting and applying anti-speculation clauses and other contractual conditions for the issuance and/or sale of organizational land and real estate.
- Demonstrable work experience with identifying and managing legal risks and legally supporting and/or independently conducting negotiations with market parties within area development projects.
