Blood Collection Coordinator

As a coordinator, you are an indispensable link in the blood donation process. Safe production and delivery of blood products for patient treatment are paramount, while ensuring the well-being of the donor. You will be part of a dynamic and diverse team. An internal coordinator training program is offered.

What you do

  • Responsible for the entire process of collecting blood and blood components from donors, including screening, collection, guidance, and providing (medical) aftercare.
  • Coordinate daily activities and serve as the point of contact for employees at the location. The balance between specialized and coordinating tasks is equal.
  • Roster management: create rosters with planners, taking into account employee availability and preferences, and ensuring hours are met. Quickly adapt to unexpected disruptions (e.g., illness, last-minute changes).
  • Team coordination: functionally lead a team of approximately 35 employees, ensure fair workload distribution, promote collaboration, inspire and motivate, and make decisions.
  • Collaboration: work closely with the location manager and senior donor physician, supporting them in developing location plans, learning objectives, development points, and the evaluation cycle.
  • Handling (donor) complaints: serve as the point of contact for donors and other departments of the organization, professionally and empathetically resolving complaints, listening to concerns, taking responsibility, and collaborating with other departments for quick and effective solutions. Ultimately, ensure a positive donor experience and donor retention.

  • Minimum MBO4 (Dutch vocational education level 4) working and thinking level. A medical background is a plus.
