As a data manager within a youth health cohort, you are an indispensable part of the process in which research data on the health of children is continuously collected, cleaned, and released to researchers. This cohort provides insights that directly contribute to policy and preventive care for young people. You ensure that this unique data is always up-to-date, secure, and well-documented for researchers from various knowledge institutions.
What you do
- develop, optimize, and manage databases and applications for reliable and continuous data exchange
- accurately clean and validate data, so that researchers always work with current and error-free data
- release cleaned and clearly documented data to researchers, with clear explanations of structure and use
- draw up and maintain data management plans, codebooks, and process documentation, so that the entire process is transparent and verifiable
- collaborate with a municipal health service, research teams, data stewards, and other partners to ensure data quality, privacy, and process improvement
What they ask
- a completed hbo or wo education, for example in information science, data science, or (bio)statistics
- experience with managing and cleaning (relational) databases and with analysis tools such as SPSS and R
- knowledge of online data collection tools, such as Castor or LimeSurvey, and insight into relevant privacy legislation (GDPR)
- good command of the Dutch and English languages, both verbally and in writing
- strong communication and organizational skills, with a proactive and collaborative attitude

Practical
- A one-year contract, with the possibility of extension, depending on available project funding and good performance
- Classification in salary scale 8: € 3,550 to € 4,722 gross for a full-time position (depending on education and experience), plus an 8.3% year-end bonus
- Vacation hours: 194.4 hours per year for a full-time position and the possibility to save up hours
- 100% public transport reimbursement or an allowance of €0.21 per km for commuting (maximum 40 km one way for car)
- Good bicycle scheme
- Pension accrual with ABP, of which 70% of the premium is paid
- Free and unlimited access to training courses in the learning environment
- An active staff association that organizes fun (sporting) activities and events
- A reference check and screening may be part of the procedure
